(The demand for our animals is occurring faster than we can produce them!) It is our desire to stay small. We want to know each animal and each customer individually. We also feel that our smaller size allows us to react to industry changes and improvements quickly.
Because of our success in sales, we are approached by many farms who would like us to broker animals for them. This has given us the opportunity to carefully hand-select some of the very best farms - farms that we feel offer outstanding animals and outstanding service... We stake our reputation on the animals from these farms, so they have to be great. Through special arrangements, we can offer many package options in all colors and in both Huacaya and Suri.
Even with these farms, we set very demanding criteria for the animals we are willing to broker... Age, temperament, health backgrounds, lineage.... We search and hand select the animals that will help you have the best opportunities for success. We stand by our animals too! While contracts are important, we believe in contracts with a conscience.

We take our time and great care to help you determine what your goal is in the alpaca industry BEFORE we sell you alpacas.... In 2009, Rose Crest brought in Ian Watt of Alpaca Consulting USA to Minnesota for the first time. It cost us thousands of dollars to bring him here - money from our own small farm. Why? Because we felt that Ian's international knowledge of alpaca fiber was critical for our customers. While we made this seminar available to everyone, Rose Crest also paid for all of our own customers to attend so that they could come for free (less hotel expenses) - at a cost of up to $400 per farm.... We also provided hot meals for breakfast, lunch and supper. This was an outstanding opportunity for our customers to grow and learn about the industry. Many said it changed the course of their farm's future....
We also offer things like the Rose Crest Round Table meetings that are open to our customers only. At these meetings we discuss marketing, needs, collaborative ideas, cost sharing... This is truly unique and we have had people tell us they want to buy from us because they have heard about our Round Table meetings....

A great many alpaca owners are city people who just love animals.... We can relate to that. While Ron was raised on a dairy farm in Southern Minnesota, Kathy was a city girl... She learned to drive a tractor, give shots, assist in cria births and so much more when we purchased our first alpacas... We understand the learning curve! We can share the fun, adventure, hard work, sorrows and laughs with you as you grow....
Ron and Kathy have both worked in Fortune 500 companies. Ron has been employed for almost 30 years for the same Fortune 500 company. He entered as a data entry specialist in his early years and worked his way up to IT Management where he now oversees multi-million dollar projects....
Kathy graduated from college with a Business Degree. She worked for a Fortune 500 company in management before becoming a full time wife and mom... She trained employees in customer service and was also in charge of employee morale for nearly 1200 employees. She has also been a speaker, along with Victoria, at homeschool conventions in the US over the past several years.
In addition, we have been leaders in many other areas... Church Elder, 4H, Junior Achievement, Coaching Softball, Choir Director, Sunday School Teachers, Orchestra Advisory Board... We feel that to be successful in any business requires above and beyond thinking, not the status quo...
